PHOTO: Kwame Kilpatrick’s Corruption Case Begins
type='html'>Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is finally facing accusations in court that while mayor, he participated in illegal activities including racketeering conspiracy, extortion, bribery, fraud, false tax returns and tax evasion. He allegedly deposited more than $200,000 in cash in his bank account and paid his credit card bills with another $280,000 in cash. Jurors have already heard the opening statements of the trial, and the trial has officially begun. Kilpatrick faces more than 10 years in prison, if convicted.
