type='html'>California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters, 74, will not be charged with ethics violations. She had been previously accused of steering a $12 million federal bailout to a bank that her husband owns stock in. However, House Ethics Committee members say they have found no violations committed by Waters, who had been under investigation since 2009.
Waters is the U.S. Representative for California's 35th congressional district, and previously the 29th district, serving since 1991. She is a member of the Democratic Party.
